Dearest Santa Cruz Derby Girls,
Thank you so much for selecting The Core to be your May featured non-profit. We had a great time at the event and met many new folks who are interested in our program. Thank you for the very professional booth set up, beautiful promotion in your printed program, and for the shout out announcements from the mic. We also appreciated the professional and timely communication with Jen Williams aka Lady Dodga leading up to and during the event. We truly felt honored to be a part of the May bout. We are very impressed with the great things that you are doing in our community. You ladies should be proud!
Your generous donation was a huge reason that The Seventh Annual Core Schralpfest in association with The Grom Fest and Sheriff’s Activity League on June 5 was absolutely STELLAR! We got a lot of love from above with the beautiful weather and solid shoulder high surf at Pleasure Point ALL day!
We had 117 total competitors – that is a new record! 12 in the new 10 and under co-ed ultra-grom push in division, 34 in the grom division (14 and under), 35 in the Pro/Am division (18 and over), 12 in the all ages girls division, and 24 in the juniors division (17 and under).
The vibe was so killer all day long. Smiles and laughter were in abundance as friends, family, and pretty much the whole surfing community came out to support The Core and have a blast doing so!
The raffle was a HUGE success! Grand prizes like wetsuits, a custom surfboard, a brand new cruiser, and an iPhone definitely made The Core some cash and stoked out pretty much everyone who bought a ticket. Thanks to our very generous sponsors, we had a plethora of product to send everyone home stoked!
The Seventh Annual Core Schralpfest brought in thousands of dollars that will be used throughout the year to pay for our weekly events, large events, trips, prizes, staff, and much more!
