| Funding raised by the Santa Cruz Derby Girls will go toward supporting the nonprofit's Art and Guitar Teach programs. Through these programs, underserved high school students learn how to mentor and teach art or music to elementary and middle school students attending schools with no funding to support an arts education during the regular school day. Art and Guitar Teach are teacher-training and mentorship programs through which high school students receive a stipend, earn elective credits, and gain valuable work experience as teachers. Elementary and middle school students receive critical exposure to the arts, and gain positive teen role models to emulate. |
